The Complete Pearson Airport Arrivals Guide: What to Expect & How to Prepare

Navigating Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) can be overwhelming, especially after a long-haul flight. As Canada's busiest transportation hub, understanding the layout and procedures ahead of time is the secret to a seamless transition from the runway to the comfort of your waiting limousine.

Whether you are a seasoned corporate traveler or arriving in Toronto for the first time, this definitive guide covers everything you need to know for a stress-free arrival at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

1. Clearing Customs and Immigration

If you are arriving on an international flight, your first stop will be the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). To expedite this process, we highly recommend downloading the Advance CBSA Declaration feature within the ArriveCAN app. This allows you to submit your customs and immigration declaration up to 72 hours before flying into Canada.

  • Terminal 1: Follow the purple "Customs" signs. Dedicated lines are available for NEXUS and Global Entry cardholders.
  • Terminal 3: The layout is slightly more linear, but can experience bottlenecks during peak international arrival windows (typically 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM).
"The true luxury of a pre-arranged airport transfer isn't just the comfortable vehicle; it is the peace of mind knowing your chauffeur is monitoring your flight status and waiting precisely when you emerge."

2. Baggage Claim Nuances

Pearson's baggage carousels are vast. Once you clear customs, check the digital display boards for your flight number. If you are traveling with oversized luggage (such as golf clubs or trade show equipment), be aware that these items are delivered to a separate "Oversized Baggage" belt, usually located at the far ends of the hall.

A note for business travelers

If you have opted for our Meet & Greet service, your chauffeur will be waiting for you inside the terminal with a personalized nameboard immediately after you exit the secure baggage claim area. They will assist you with your luggage from that point forward.

3. Locating Your Limo Pickup Point

If you prefer standard curbside pickup rather than the inside Meet & Greet, Pearson has designated posts for pre-arranged limousines. Do not follow signs for rideshare apps or taxis; pre-arranged luxury transport has priority lanes.

  • Terminal 1 Arrivals: Proceed to Door A on the arrivals level. Tell the commissioner you are waiting for a pre-arranged Airport Limo Pickup, and they will call your vehicle up from the holding compound.
  • Terminal 3 Arrivals: Proceed to Post 7 or Post 9. Similar to T1, provide your name to the dispatcher at the booth.

We pride ourselves on punctuality. Your driver will text you upon your flight's landing, providing a direct line of communication so you can step right out of the doors and into your vehicle.
